About
The first part of theclass is aimed at raising awareness of the body, space and dancers around us. We will work on the articulation of the body and the relationship to the space inside and outside the body. We will explore how to be together and how we can create certain landscapes or feelings together. The emphasis will be on musicality and performance of dance/movement material. Recording, watching and reading dance will also be one of the tools.
Biography
Maja Kalafatić (1984, Celje) is a dancer, choreographer, pedagogue and yoga teacher who lives and creates between Ljubljana, Belgrade and Helsinki. In 2006, she graduated from SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy for Dance) and in 2015 she received her master's degree from the Hochschule fiir Musik und Tanz, KöIn: HfMT in the field of dance dissemination. She is currently a PhD student at FMK (Faculty of Media and Communications in Belgrade) and a master's student at The Theater Academy Helsinki. For more than ten years, she has been working as a freelance artist in the field of contemporary stage practices and dance pedagogy. Her latest works are closely related to visual art, theory and practice of contemporary dance. She works as a self-employed person in culture.
