About

Little Danceroom is intended to the youngest researchers of movement and dance, aged 3 to 9.
The creative atmosphere of this dance workshop allows the children to explore and become aware of their bodies, their sensory awareness, and to explore their movement abilities and the unlimited scope of their imagination. The elements, principles, and the technique of dance are taught through guided exercises, stretches, improvisations, movement games/tasks, and short choreographies. The creative part of the workshop is inspired by the motifs from the sphere of art, stories, fairy tales, natural phenomena, and, of course, daily life. This kind of creative expression also develops higher levels of children’s awareness of others and their feelings. The workshop thus enables the children to cultivate the appreciation of dance and dance arts, as well as of other people. And the appreciation of others presents the basis for growing as individuals as well as for doing and creating things together. The year-round workshop concludes with a public presentation.

Biography

Barbara Kanc studied at Laban Dance Center in London. Before that she finished Pre-School Education and Grammar School Ljubljana, module contemporary dance, as a student of firs generation enrolled in this programme. In last years she is working more and more with children and young dancers.

Practical informations

Little Danceroom, for children from 3 to 5 years old, Mondays from 4.30pm to 5.15pm

Big Danceroom, for children from 6 to 9 years old, Mondays from 17.20 to 18.15

Dancing sessions will be held every week (except during holidays and holidays) from October to June. Price: 192€ per year in two installments / first installment payable until October 7, 2019, second until January 13, 2020 / October to May.  Enrollment is due until October 4, 2019 at the LGL box office or email box office@lgl.si.
The workshops take place in the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre. Little Danceroom is organised by Ljubljana Puppet Theatre and Emanat Institute.
