Alja Branc (1994) is a dancer, performer, and creator based between Slovenia and Hungary. She started her education at Secondary Preschool Education, Grammar School and Performing Arts Grammar School Ljubljana, specializing in contemporary dance, and graduated at Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy (BCDA). During her studies, she created two miniatures: "Venusian" (2017, co-authored) and "Manufacture of Immoral People" (2018, authored), both of which have been showcased multiple times. Her further creations include "Dimensions of Encounter" (2021, co-authored), "Don't Do, Try!" (2022, authored), performative research "Mimesis" (2023) and the initiative "Dance Shop" which aims to create space for reflection and communication of contemporary dance . Alja actively participates in creation with Slovenian and Hungarian artists, it is precisely in the collaboration and sharing of creative processes that she finds deep inspiration to continue work and research in the field of dance and, consequently, to share the craft and passion for developing movement.
