About

The class is based on principles of different dance and movement techniques like ballet, yoga and floor/release. It deals with observing the body and the movement that passes through the body, with movement's precision, and special focus on awareness where the movement starts and where it ends. Class also focuses on:
- Elongation of  body and/or movement into space
- Exploration of different movement amplitudes
- Expansion of personal movement vocabulary with the help of articulated body that gained strength, speed and dynamics through various exercises.

Biography

Kaja Janjić is a dancer and a choregrapher. In 2006 she succesfully completed contemporary dance studies at SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. She collaborated with many renowned slovene choreographers like Matjaž Farič, Rosana Hribar, Gregor Luštek and theatre directors like Bojan Jablanovec, Ivana Djilas and Maruša Geymayer Oblak. Her work extends from dance to theatre, cabaret and children performancess. In 2013 she created her first project – a duet in collaboration with Matic Bobnar titled »Pas De Tea«. From 2012-2014 she collaborated in a project of international network DCL - Dance Communication Lab (Dance Explorations Beyond Front@) under choreographic leadership of Robert Clark. She is a winner of the Audience Award and Alexander Izraijlovski Award at choreographic miniatures in Belgrade in 2010.
