The live-coding audiovisual performance trans.fail/mod_abv is a chapter in the trans.fail series—an artistic research project that explores the transitional nature of error and failure across a broad spectrum of digital media and socio-political domains.
It is an ever-evolving experiment in live coding and computer art that seeks to deconstruct sonic images and create a synesthetic experience.
The /mod_abv episode emerges from an exploration of moderation as a social practice within a community (human, though perhaps not exclusively so) and encompasses various aspects: the setting of restrictions and boundaries; the agreement (code of conduct) between community members and their satellites; and the question of whether agreements and rules are observed and enforced.
The artistic exploration reflects on the intensity of questions surrounding community through an often abstract audiovisual language, in which meanings are blurred and obscured, wavering between being and not being rendered, between appearing and not appearing.
