About

Technique
The work focuses on "space in the body" or on the awareness and dissemination of this space. With the releasing, using the gravity, repetition and physical imagination we will try to open especially body articulations and increase their flexibility. Picking up body gradually from the floor (where the class starts) we will be composing a fluent body. In the second part of the class, we will explore how to maintain flow and fluidity in complex combinations (traveling through space, speed, ...).

Workshop
By exploring different ways and levels of communication between the bodies (people), we will put together the structures of dance (duet, trio ...). Within these structures we will open space for improvisation, which will allow us to remain responsive to current misunderstandings, communication noises, errors.
We will devote our time to moments in dance, where the physical communication (between two or more dancers) is lost. These moments of "misunderstanding" will be highlighted as opportunities that can be used to upgrade certain existing structures.
We will find ways for exposing a mistake or a misunderstanding in a way that is not recognized as an error but as a performative strategy.

Biography

Kaja Lorenci is a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. In 2006 he graduated from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) in Salzburg. Her performance Awaiting Resonance in collaboration with Ivan Mijačević began to develop a unique method of creative work and approach to movement. The show was selected for Gibanica 2013 and later toured successfully on the Croatian dance platform. In the years 2012 - 2014 she worked as a dancer with various authors: Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik, Mateja Bucar, Madeleine Karlsson and Alexander Stratimirović, Rosana Hribar and Gregor Luštek, Carmina Slovenica - Karmina Šilec. For several years she has been teaching contemporary dance technique at SVŠGL.
